Guess who..

Robbie is now two months old. I can't believe how fast it has gone. He is getting so fun. When we talk to him he gets really excited and starts smiling. He is a GREAT sleeper and the best baby. Oh and he learned to do this...
suck is little thumb. He poked his eye a lot too. It was so cute. But we quickly took it out and gave him a paci. A paci is easy to get rid of later but his thumb is always there

He's NOT a toy!

Before church last Sunday the kids (with daddy) came in with this sweet little package. I have to tell them ALL the time that he is NOT a toy and to be careful. But they love him and this was too cute! I love how Jordy has a HUGE smile on his face and how big Robbie looks in Kenzie's arms.

You know you want one

I have found the cutest necklaces and you can make them anyway you want which is even better. The girl that makes then is having a giveaway for a Christmas one that is super cute so go check it out!

New blog

I started a new blog called What's Cookin'? so I can organize all the yummy recipes I get or want to share. If you want to share some just email me and I will add it to the blog and give you credit. It is new so there are just a few now but save it and check often.

I have been lied to..

Will's cousin Jana has informed me that a little jingle I thought was "Nobody does it like Sara lee" has been a lie. A lie I tell you and because of that I will no longer eat her pies!! Click here and see. It's strictly Marie for me! Or better yet NO pie so I don't get fatter.

YUMMY.

Shelly Brown is doing a recipe exchange blog style. So if want to get some yummy recipes go to her site and sing up. Here is mine for the week. We made this last year and the kids LOVED it! It would make a great gift for friends too.

Pistachio Brittle

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1 cup unsalted butter (NO SUBSTITUTES)
2 cups salted shelled pistachio nuts (chopped)
1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation:Butter 2 cookie sheets and set aside. In heavy 3-quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until mixture comes to a full rolling boil. This will take 15-25 minutes. Then add butter. Cover pan for 1-2 minutes to allow the steam to wash down any sugar crystals on sides of pan.
Clip a candy thermometer to the side of the pan with the bulb touching the syrup, but not touching the sides or bottom of pan. Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reaches 280 degrees F. You can test without a candy thermometer by dropping a small amount of candy into some cold water forms a hard but pliable strand.
Then stir in pistachios and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 305 degrees F or until a bit of candy dropped into cold water forms a brittle strand. Remove pan from heat and stir in baking soda (mixture will foam up, so be ready and be careful), stirring well.
Pour onto prepared cookie sheets and spread until candy is 1/4" thick. Cool completely, then break into pieces and store in tightly covered container. Makes 2 pounds.

What a job...

I like to make fun of my dad and tell him that he hardly works because he only works 10 days a month. But really I know he works more hours than most and he has saves lives for a living (he is a fireman, or as the kids use to say "fighter man") But really how hard of a job could it be if you get to play with these cute kids!?! Baby trying on grandpa's hat
The kids by the tire, which is bigger than them.

Jordy in grandpa's gear. See how is it nice and new looking. That is because he doesn't work! Okay just kidding it is new, I guess you have to get new gear every few years. I told him to roll in the dirt so it looks worn. OH maybe the kids should do it. What do you say dad?

David takes his job serious

Jordan working hard.
We had a fun time. Thanks for letting us come!!

This is what cute looks like

This is what a 7 1/2 week old looks like after he pukes all over his mama's bed. So she puts him on the sheets that his sister peed on last night. Isn't he just so cute!?!

I really liked this.

UNITED STATES MAP - Short But Good!
A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his
little
girl, Shelby. She wanted to know what the United States looked like.

Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed
the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to
Shelby
and said, 'Go into the other room and see if you can put this
together.
This will show you our whole country today.'
After a few minutes, Shelby return to her Dad and handed him the map,
correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and
asked
how she had finished so quickly.
'Oh,' she said, on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus.
When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country
just came together.'

This one is worth forwarding. OVER AND OVER AGAIN..... AMEN!!!!!

Hurry up

The very talented Camille is giving away one of her quilts and is going to make it just for you. So hurry up and head to her website and enter!

Good news?

I have been wanting to get off my seizure meds for a while but was not able to because I was pregnant. Well last week I had an EEG (a test that measures activity in your brain with 31 wires. It took 45 minutes just to hook up the wires.) Today I went to the Dr to get the results of that test and everything is normal, which means.... NO MORE MEDS!!! I am so excited yet a little nervous.
I know it sounds weird but I am worried about what will happen to the baby if I stop, because he has had them all his life. I worry about maybe having another seizure, gaining weight, being cranking, I just worry. But at the same time I have been praying for this and I'm excited. So maybe I should now pray to now all is well....

Tombstone

Will actually had a Saturday off so we went to Tombstone for a few hours because his dad's band was playing. We had a fun time but could have use a few more hours. Jordan loved "cowboy town" He liked that there were lots and lots of cowboys with guns and that they would talk to him. It is pretty cool that we live so close to a town that has a rich history to it. (I think I need to learn more before we go back) Jordan, the leader of the dirty underpants gang.
